The Discoverer (1914)


Forever on the lookout fot new wines, he travelled around the Gironde vineyards on his bicycle. In homage to this grand monsieur of wine, the company adopted his name and used the silhouette of a penny-farthing bicycle as its emblem.

The Future (2001)


The merger between the Catalan company Freixenet and the Bordeaux trading house Yvon Mau opens up new prospects for the development of brands with an international dimension. As a result, the new group moves up to tenth place in the world rankings of wine production.

A New Direction (2007)


Philippe Laquèche was appointed Yvon Mau Managing Director in July 2007. A new phase in the company history begins with the support of the Freixenet Group, now the worlds 9th-ranked wine producer. Yvon Mau's upmarket shift as part of its future strategy is now very much underway.
