Castellblanch - Brand Overview
Founded in 1908 by Jeronimo Parera Figueres as a family business, Bodega Castellblanch, S.A. has since grown into one of the largest and most respected makers of cava wines in the world. Today more that 1.5 million cases of Castellblanch are sold throughout the world.Castellblanch first gained international recognition at the International Wine Exhibition in Barcelona in 1930 by creating hand-crafted cava grown on the upper hillsides of the Penedes (pen-eh-DES) and kept on the yeast in naturally cool hillside caves.
Since then, the wines of Castellblanch have been regulars in shows and select tastings. In 1984, Freixenet, S.A., the worlds largest producer of sparkling wine acquired Castellblanch. In 1986 they began importing to these shores.
